This April, Marvel’s long planned War of the Realms finally kicks off with writer Jason Aaron and artists Russell Dauterman and Matthew Wilson – with the Asgardian conflict finally coming to Earth.
According to Marvel, War of the Realms will be an “event of unparalleled scale” on par with 2015/16’s Secret Wars.
War of the Realms will run for six issues released over three months, from April through June, and will draw in all of the publisher’s major characters, including Iron Man, Thor, The Avengers, the Fantastic Four, Captain Marvel, Amazing Spider-Man, Daredevil, Black Panther, Venom, and more.
“I have been building towards War of the Realms for the entire duration of my Thor run. So we're talking six years and 80-something issues and counting,” said Aaron in a statement. “This is a war that covers the entire globe and involves the biggest heroes of the Marvel Universe, as you can see in this amazing promo piece by my Mighty Thor collaborators, Russell Dauterman and Matthew Wilson, who I'm so thrilled to be working with again on War of the Realms.”
Along with the announcement came this teaser image:
Note the starfield pattern in Daredevil’s shadows and his glowing eyes. That pattern could indicate the presence of “Cosmic Awareness,” which usually manifests that pattern on those who possess it.
It could also indicate that Matt Murdock has once again bonded with the Uni-Power – the manifestation of the being Eternity that turns those it bonds with into Captain Universe. Daredevil previously bonded with the Uni-Power in a 2005 one-shot. Interestingly, in that story, Matt Murdock could see while bonded with the Uni-Power.
Daredevil also wields an Asgardian sword similar to that of the Valkyrior – perhaps he’s headed to Valhalla when he dies later this year.
The image follows yesterdey's teaser that featured Daredevil with a flaming head.

In the teaser, Captain America rides Aragorn, the winged horse that has served as a mount for both Valkyrie and Black Knight. Also, the recently returned Blade appears, fighting alongside the Avengers.
War of the Realms will mark Marvel’s first major line-wide event since 2017’s Secret Empire.
